All the Seafront Orkney Cottages are decorated in a nautical theme with contemporary décor and equipped with all modern amenities. They are graded 4 Star by Visit Scotland and each of them has holiday libraries and complimentary Wi-Fi too.
Their settings right on the sea, are difficult to match and are simply good for the soul! One simply feels better about life just being there.
Enjoying one’s cuppa in the morning on the pier - while one watches the fishing boats going out for the day - is quite special. In the Autumn and Winter months, the sunrises are something to behold in the mornings, as a backdrop to the fishing boats going out for a day’s hard work. Sea life, bird life, seals and views over Scapa Flow are treats to be enjoyed every day.
Difficult to beat - enjoying a glass of one’s favourite “something”, in the evenings - while sitting on the pier, just “being” and feeling at one with the sea and sea life.
The Cottages are set in a quiet part of Stromness, yet in walking distance to many points of interest including the golf course, the Stromness museum, pubs, cafes, bakery, deli, take away, shops, chemist and Pier Arts Centre.
If you just want to get away from the harshness and bustle of life - Seafront Orkney Cottages leave one feeling invigorated and make one feel good about life again. And they are quite romantic too!
If you are looking for smaller cottages, you will be able to enjoy Seafront Orkney Cottages' sister cottages
“Anderson's Harbour Cottages”, where there is:
a Three Bedroom Cottage - 4 South End
a two-Bedroom Cottage- 40 Alfred Street
and a 1½ Bedroom Cottage - 36 Alfred Street
Login's Inn, the place Ships' Officers and other colourful characters used to frequent in the early 1800's, is now two private dwellings. One of these dwellings, right on the seafront, is now part of Anderson's Harbour Cottages "Norland, 10 South End". A total refurbishment was undertaken early 2018 and this character mid 1700’s stone building, now includes a top of the range modern kitchen, 4 brand new bathrooms all en suite (with showers) and all bedrooms have smart TV’s as well as the sitting room with a view over the sea. It is positioned right on the seafront with its front door about 3 meters from the sea. It has its own pier, stone little slip and parking available too. Magnificent views of passing boats, sea life and sunrises across Scapa Flow. Login’s Well is just diagonally opposite the Cottage. Read historical references and historical points of interest (read more here). It is a privilege to be able to stay in a house with such heritage.
